Susan
Reynolds, MD, PhD
President and CEO
Dr. Reynolds is a nationally
recognized keynote speaker, leadership development
expert, and executive coach. She has shared her unique
approach to today’s leadership and management
challenges with Fortune 500 companies, major health
care organizations, and national and state medical
associations.
A former emergency
physician and CEO of an emergency medical center,
she created the Physician Leadership Training Institute
for the American Medical Association. Prior to founding
The Institute for Medical Leadership, Dr. Reynolds
served on the White House Health Professionals Review
Group from 1993 to 1994, as one of its few practicing
physician members. During this appointment she was
very much aware that physicians were not in the lead
in the national health care reform debate. When subsequently
recruited to develop and lead the Physician Executive
Practices at Heidrick & Struggles and Russell
Reynolds Associates, two highly respected international
search firms, she decided to study what makes an effective
leader and teach what she learned to physicians and
healthcare executives. In so doing, she seeks to increase
patient centered leadership that brings about much
needed healthcare reform in local institutions and
at the national level. |
